HIGH PLAINS HEALTH

HEALTHCARE WITH WARMTH & PRECISION

A calm practice interior shaped by privacy, patient comfort and alpine landscapes.

Located in Bright, High Plains Health was designed to support Dr. Anton Lambers in his quest for a more welcoming and reassuring orthopedic patient experience. Britt White Studio developed a new floorplan for the practice, including reception, three consult rooms and staff amenities, all connected by a long central hallway.

The brief called for a space that felt professional and orderly, without becoming cold or impersonal. Warm oak tones, crisp whites and layered blues were used to create a clear, cohesive palette, drawing from the snow covered mountains surrounding Bright, the bright blue of the winter sky and the calm visual language of health, serenity and wellness.

In reception, white oak scalloped wall lining softens the entry and creates a warm first impression. The curved timber detailing continues into the hallway, whilst an elevated letterbox window allows light into the first consult room while maintaining privacy. This balance of light, openness and discretion became an important part of the design response.

The hallway was transformed from circulation into a defining feature of the practice. A floor to ceiling photographic mural of the Victorian Alps, captured by local photographer Charlie Brown, stretches the length of the space and brings the surrounding High Country landscape inside. Paired with blue seating and natural oak finishes, the mural creates a calm moment of orientation for patients as they move through the rooms.

Within the consult rooms, commercial grade medical finishes were selected for durability, hygiene and design performance. Acoustic felt wall linings, in a VJ profile, help protect patient privacy while adding depth, texture and softness to the clinical environment. The result is a series of rooms that feel focused and functional, but still intimate and considered.

Small handmade details add warmth and individuality throughout the practice, from the playful consult room door numbers to the ceramic water urn and timber side table in the hallway. These moments soften the medical setting and bring a sense of care to the everyday experience of the space.

The finished practice is calm, sophisticated and quietly inviting. A commercial interior designed to support focus and trust, while offering patients a sense of comfort, dignity and reassurance.
