LE BAIN PENTHOUSE

RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY STYLING AND CURATION

A luxurious modern home for a global executive from Brisbane, looking to create a haven for his family.

Nestled atop the Le Bain, a prestigious 15-story development in Newstead, Brisbane, is a modern family home that bridges the gap between San Francisco and Brisbane for its owners. Seeking a sanctuary that would unite them after extended periods apart, the family entrusted Britt White Studio with the task of crafting an immersive space filled with Australian and Scandinavian designer furniture, all while upholding sustainable principles. Their vision? A contemporary haven that fosters connection and tranquillity amidst the bustling cityscape.

With Covid-19 lockdowns complicating the design process, Britt took on the challenge of remotely furnishing the home, infusing it with warmth and inviting ambience. Drawing inspiration from the family's extensive collection of modernist and indigenous art, including works by acclaimed artists such as Sidney Nolan and George Hairbrush Tjungurrayi, Britt curated each space with meticulous attention to detail.

Collaborating with local artisans, Britt oversaw the creation of custom furniture pieces like the elliptical American Oak dining table by Steel Road of Yackandandah, Victoria. Complemented by iconic designs such as the Grant Featherstone ‘Scape’ Dining Chair and an original Kofod-Larsen ‘Knitting Chair’, the interiors exude timeless elegance and sophistication.

The highlight of the retreat? The Jungle Room is a whimsical yet functional space designed specifically for the family's two young boys, crafting a playful environment that sparks imagination and fosters growth. It's a testament to the studio's dedication to creating spaces that not only reflect their clients' personalities but also nurture their most cherished relationships.

Overall, the penthouse retreat at Le Bain is more than just a home—it's a sanctuary where the family can unwind, reconnect, and create lasting memories together. With its inviting ambience, organic textures and thoughtful design, it serves as a tranquil oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of urban life.
