ALPINE GLOW

A WARM, GROUNDED HIGH COUNTRY HOME

Whole of house furnishing, bespoke furniture creation and styling.

Alpine Glow is a family holiday home in Bright, designed to feel warm, relaxed and deeply connected to the rhythms of outdoor living. Created for clients David and Nicole, the new build replaced an older weatherboard cabin that no longer suited the way the family lives, with a home better equipped for weekends away, entertaining and time shared with friends and family.

Britt White Studio was engaged to shape the furnishing and decoration direction throughout the home, drawing on an instinctive understanding of High Country living to create a whole of house scheme that feels both refined and deeply liveable.

The brief was to create a home with warmth, texture and personality, while still feeling calm and unfussy. The interior palette builds on the richness of the Spotted Gum lining, layered with earthy tones, olive greens and deep burgundy accents. Furniture and objects were chosen to feel collected rather than overly styled, with tactile materials, vintage references and statement pieces bringing softness and depth to each room.

Upstairs, the main living spaces were designed for both everyday family life and entertaining, with the dining area beneath vaulted ceilings becoming a natural place to gather. The main bedroom uses darker tones and bespoke pieces to create a quieter sense of retreat. Downstairs, a more playful second living zone offers room for movie nights, guests and time to unwind.

A key part of the project was the development of custom furniture with makers from across the Victorian High Country, including the integrated headboard and side tables in the main bedroom, and a series of custom steel pieces by Steel Road in Yackandandah. Working alongside JH Building and Design and Imogen Pullar Architecture, Britt White Studio helped shape a home that now feels warm without fuss, expressive without excess and perfectly aligned with the way the family lives.
